
Anthony David Gonzalez (born February 27th, 1976) is a former American football tight end who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 17 seasons. He is regarded as one of the most outstanding tight ends ever and the all-time NFL leader in receiving yards and receptions by a tight-end, and is ranked third overall in receiving. Gonzalez was a part of the first 12 seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, who picked him in the first round of the 1997 NFL Draft. The last five seasons the team was part of the Atlanta Falcons. Gonzalez quit in 2013 and has been an analyst on football for NFL on Prime Video. He was previously with CBS Sports and Fox Sports. Gonzalez also received six first-team All-Pro honors. The player is known for his strength and never fumbling, Gonzalez appeared in 270 of 272 regular season games and only lost two fumbles on 1,327 touches. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the year 2019.
